The Quit Group - Txt 2 Quit
The Quit Group is a charitable trust set up to run quit smoking programmes in New Zealand, including the national free telephone support Quitline. Quit’s aim is to reduce the number of New Zealanders who smoke, with a particular focus on Maori smokers. Quit develops and provides innovative quit smoking programmes, television, radio, and print quit campaigns as well as evidence-based tobacco control facts and figures. The programmes are funded by the NZ Ministry of Health.
Txt2Quit is a SMS-based smoking cessation program delivered by The Quit Group on behalf of the NZ Ministry of Health, in partnership with Healthphone Solutions. Txt2Quit is enabled by the Healthphone Messaging Engine (HME) and provides numerous benefits for health authorities, participants and providers alike:
