Microsoft Teams Up with Healthphone to Get Smokers to Quit
The software company Healthphone, founded in Auckland but now headquartered in Seattle, has signed an agreement with Microsoft to be its "global lead solutions" partner for community care and chronic health condition management, an agreement which includes the deployment of a new service called "STOMP" early next year. STOMP, which stands for Stop Smoking Over Mobile Phone, works with Microsoft's new HealthVault web site and could also be available directly from health service providers.

Microsoft Takes Healthphone STOMP Application to World
Auckland-based Healthphone Solutions has developed an application to help people stop smoking, and it has been picked up by Microsoft as part of its global HealthVault launch. The STOMP (stop smoking over mobile phone) application is designed to work as a motivational tool, delivering reminders and personalised information via text message.

Healthphone to Launch SMS Text Messaging to Help Quit Smoking
Healthphone Solutions, a health software and patient selfmanagement solutions provider, will launch an application to help people stop smoking via SMS text message reminders on the Microsoft HealthVault platform. STOMP is a smoking intervention program consisting of a personalized series of text messages that are automatically sent to participants’ cellphones throughout the day to help them quit. STOMP, which stands for Stop smoking Over Mobile Phone, will be available directly to consumers via Microsoft HealthVault in early 2008 as part of the myHealthphone suite of products.

Healthphone appoints Alison Crosbie as Director of Marketing
Healthphone has appointed Alison Crosbie to the position of Director of Marketing. Ms Crosbie will lead the global communications and marketing programmes for Healthphone. Ms Crosbie has joined Healthphone from Telecom New Zealand where she was Head of Voice and Applications for the Business Markets. Prior to Telecom, Ms Crosbie held senior marketing roles for Ericsson Communications, Motorola and Philips.

Healthphone has appointed former Microsoft Corporation senior director Debbi Gillotti as its Chief Executive Officer, effective 4 June. Ms Gillotti will head the company's business expansion and establish an international operating headquarters in the Seattle, Washington area to support Healthphone's global customer base.
Product design and development will remain a mainstay of the New Zealand Healthphone operation for years to come to continue to leverage the local IT talent pool.
